Aaka twisted onto her back, and let out a howl of pain.

It was official: Her pups were coming.

No one knew how many were to be in her litter, but having a pup in the Winter Season was seen as a bad sign. The pup would probably die if it was not strong.

Aaka whimpered softly. "Some one get a medicine wolf!" She whined.
